Sulphur Dun Nymph

This fly can be tied on a Mustad 9671 hook in sizes 16-20. It is a creation of Bob Mauro, one of our past members, and it has passed the tests of time. It is very useful during the midday or slow periods on the limestone streams of south-central Pennsylvania. Fish it dead drift or give it a slight twitch as you would for most nymphs.

Tail: Wood Duck fibers
Body: Brown and orange fur blended together in a ratio of 60% orange and 40% brown
Wing: Gray or black goose
Legs: Wood Duck fibers tied as a throat

You can tie the same pattern using yellow in place of the orange. Your choice of fly will depend on the color of the naturals you are imitating.
